Match Report

Afterwards a disappointed Arsene Wenger admitted: "I felt we played a great game tonight and we gave everything.

"We had a few chances to score the second goal and when you don't it is always difficult.

"I thought the referee made a big mistake because the first Barcelona goal was offside. It is very difficult to take because this team has been absolutely fantastic.

"This has been the only game we have lost in the whole European season so it is very hard to take.

"I was a little bit confident (in the second half) because I know we can defend well against that sort of passing.

"I believe this team has grown this season. Sometimes when you can transform the frustration of a defeat like this and you can come back stronger."
