Arbroath player-manager Paul Sheerin is suspended as his side bid to record victory at home to Queen's Park and move closer to the title. Sheerin`s men could be crowned champions if results elsewhere go in their favour but captain Stuart Malcolm remains sidelined through injury. However, midfielder Ross Chisholm is available again after a two-match ban and Sheerin's side go into the game on the back of two wins in a week over Clyde. The Gayfield boss said: " Queen's Park have given us hard games all season but we know what we need to do if we want to be successful. "A win would set things up very nicely for the rest of the season as I do not expect the teams beneath to all lose." Queen's Park winger David Murray again misses out through a hamstring problem as the Spiders look to boost their promotion push. The long-term injured quartet of Jamie Brough, Steven Baillie, Paul Harkins and Michael O'Hara remain sidelined for the fifth-placed side. Promotion is still in the hands of the Hampden side with head coach Gardner Speirs in optimistic mood. He said: "The sides above us have a number of fixtures against each other and Queen's Park so if we win our games everything remains in our hands in terms of securing a play-off place. "Arbroath are a good side but we have given them tough games all season so we have a chance in this one."

Smokies squander chance of victory Arbroath missed the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Third Division with a 2-2 draw at home to play-off hopefuls Queens Park. The lead changed hands twice in a topsy-turvy game with Queens Park scoring first in the 25th minute, Craig Smith landing a 20-yard effort inside the left-hand side of the goal. Arbroath replied swiftly just after the half-hour mark, a left-footed free-kick by Kieran McAnespie finding Keith Gibson in space to head home from six yards. Shortly after the break, the league leaders took the initiative from a inswinging left-sided corner taken by Ross Chisholm allowing Craig Wedderburn to steal in with a right-footed low shot. The game was level again on 80th minutes, Queens Park's Jamie Longworth blasting in from 12 yards after a good cross from substitute Ian Watt.
