Match Preview

Annan face striker shortage Annan Athletic face a striker shortage as they attempt to get back to winning ways when they host Montrose. Strikers David Cox and Graeme Bell have been ruled out and Sean O'Connor is struggling with a knee injury as the Black and Golds look to bounce back following two defeats and a draw. Club captain Kevin Neilson has left for a six-month stint in Australia and midfielder Chris Jardine is a doubt with a calf injury, leaving manager Harry Cairney short of options. Cairney said: "The door is open for someone like Ian Harty to come in and score the goals that will get us winning again. "Montrose gave us a really tough game at their place before we won 3-2 so we know we are in for a tough afternoon." Montrose will again be without Alan Campbell as they travel to take on the league-leaders. The defender has a groin injury and Links Park manager Ray Farningham is looking for his men to show the same level of performance as last week - when they drew 1-1 with second-placed Alloa. He said: "We have been a bit up and down this season, but I am hoping that the boys can show me in this game and that they can put together good performances consistently. "Annan will be hurting after a couple of defeats but we will travel there with confidence from the Alloa game. "We ran Annan really close at our place and I am looking for us to go one better this time out."
