Neilson set for starting spot Skipper Kevin Neilson looks set to reclaim a starting spot in the centre of the Annan defence for the visit of Montrose. Neilson made his comeback from surgery to remove a metal plate from his face as a substitute at Elgin on Saturday. Athletic have a full squad, with the only absentee being goalkeeper Greg Kelly - who is missing through work commitments - as they go for a third home win in a row. Manager Harry Cairney said: "We never got going at Borough Briggs at the weekend and it`s good that we have the chance to get playing again so quickly. "Montrose are a much-improved side this season, but a win moves us second and keeps a good gap from the teams chasing a play-off spot." Player-manager Steven Tweed has ruled himself out of Montrose`s trip to Annan, and his side will also be missing Terry Masson, John Crawford and Paul Watson through knocks. Hugh Davidson looks set to be pressed into action after a month out and Daryl Nicol is back in contention after suspension kept him out of Staurday's 2-0 defeat to Albion Rovers. Tweed said: "We were on a six-game unbeaten run before the Albion Rovers game and the way I am looking at things, the Annan match gives us the chance to start another unbeaten run. "Annan have a really good home record and we have to ensure that we don`t give the ball away easily as that cost us at the weekend."

Match Report
Montrose hit back for point Goals from Alan Cambell and Paul Tosh helped Montrose to come from behind twice at Annan and secure a 2-2 draw. The home side went in front after 25 minutes when Chris Jardine crossed for David Cox to finish from six yards. Montrose were level four minutes before half-time when Alan Campbell headed home from Ross McCord's corner. But Athletic regained the lead just two minutes later when Aaron Muirhead nodded in from Jardine's set-piece. The Gable Endies came back again to make it two apiece on the hour mark, Tosh heading home from Nicky Smith's cross. Cox had the best chance to win the game, but he headed over in the 77th minute.
