Winters set for second Galabankie debut
Annan welcome back striker David Winters for the visit of Elgin after a deal was agreed for the frontman to be a Galabankie until the end of the season.
Winters, who hit two goals in a three-game trial period for the Black and Golds last month, looks certain to start this game as striker Graeme Bell is out with a groin injury and Bryan Gilfillan and Sean O'Connor are both injury doubts.
Defender Aaron Muirhead is suspended to add to manager Harry Cairney's selection worries.
Cairney said: "I am delighted to have David here as it looks like we will be a bit short up front. Hopefully David can fire the goals that gets us going again in terms of winning games."
Elgin will be missing central defenders Paul Kaczan and Steven Edwards for their long trek south as manager Ross Jack looks to halt a run of four defeats in a row away from home.
Midfielder Ross O'Donoghue and Paul Millar are both doubts, with Jack saying: "We have been doing well at home all season and it is about time that we got some consistency into our results by doing well on our travels.
"We drew down there earlier in the season but we really need to start getting some wins on the road to be considered a play-off contender.
"We have nine games coming up in a short period of time and winning at Annan would be the perfect start to that run."
Draw dents duo's promotion hopes
Annan and Elgin lost ground on the top three in the Scottish Third Division after playing out a 1-1 draw.
The hosts took an early lead when a deep cross from David Winters found Jack Steele who headed across Alexander Clark into the far corner.
Elgin came straight back and equalised with 29 minutes gone, Daniel Moore getting to the by-line and chipping the ball to David Niven, who planted a powerful header into the top corner.
The visitors should have led after half-time, but top scorer Craig Gunn snatched at an opportunity inside the box and shot over the bar.
David Cox then hit a post for Athletic with a blistering shot from long range as both sides pushed for the win.
Mark Durnan was sent off for Elgin for foul and abusive language, but it was too late for Annan to capitalise on.
