Match Preview
Annan have received a triple boost ahead of the visit of bogey side Elgin, with three players agreeing deals with the club. Former Carlisle goalkeeper Alex Mitchell has penned a deal until the end of the season, with veteran midfielder Neil Macfarlane extending his stay at the club for the same period. Annan have also converted striker Sean O'Connor's loan spell into a permanent move following his release from Queen of the South. Striker David Cox is suspended against a Borough Briggs side that are unbeaten in six games. Black and Gold manager Harry Cairney said: "It is great to get back to league business but Elgin would not have been my first choice of opponents." Elgin have doubts over four players for the trip. Defenders Allan Dempsie, Jamie Duff and Paul Kaczan are all struggling to make it, while player-assistant manager Barry Wilson is also a doubt. Despite his side's good record at Galabank, Elgin boss Ross Jack is expecting a tough afternoon. He said: "They will want to close the gap on us and use their games in hand to pick up points to jump into a play-off place. "They have also brought in some new players and what is always a tough trip is looking like it will be even tougher this time. "We performed will at Inverness last week and need the same level of performance in this game to get anything."

Match Report
Macfarlane foils Elgin Neil Macfarlane struck deep into stoppage time to earn 10-man Annan a 2-2 draw against Elgin. The hosts fell behind twice to goals from Jason Crooks but Bryan Gilfillan cancelled out the first effort before Macfarlane provided the late drama. Both sides raced out of the traps, with the first three goals coming in the opening 11 minutes. Crooks drilled in a low shot to hand Elgin the lead after just three minutes but their celebrations were short-lived as Gilfillan hammered in the leveller from 20 yards after six minutes. The excitement continued when Crooks turned home his second from close range. Elgin must have thought they were heading for the top three when Aaron Muirhead was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence before the break. But veteran midfielder Macfarlane capitalised on some hesitancy in the visitors` defence to slam in the equaliser with just seconds remaining.
