Duo missing for AnnanAnnan will be without Greg Kelly and Graeme Bell as they open up their third season as a SFL club with a home match against East Stirling.Manager Harry Cairney has ruled out goalkeeper Kelly through work commitments and striker Bell with a groin problem.Recently signed front man Bryan Felvus is included in Cairney's pool after overcoming the hamstring injury that kept him out last week.Cairney said: "It is important to get off to a good start so a win would be very welcome."I watched East Stirling against Alloa last weekend and they played well, so we need to start the league season well to pick up three points."East Stirling have received a triple boost on the eve of their opening league match of the season.Midfielder Jamie Stevenson has signed on again at the club for one month and Craig Tully and Derek Ure have both been declared fit enough to be included in Jim McInally's squad. There was further good news with summer signing Alex Walker returning to training during the week and the former Morton man may also be included provided there has been no reaction after his pre-season injury.Assistant head coach David Nicholls said: "We have set high standards in the cup games against Stranraer and Alloa and we can not let those standards drop now that the league is starting."
Triple burst sees of Shire
Annan flew out of the blocks to set up an impressive 3-1 opening day victory over East Stirling.
Athletic were in the lead after 16 minutes when Mike Hack curled a shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the area.
Two minutes later Jordan Halsman doubled the advantage by emphatically putting David Cox's cross into the top corner.
Cox was again the provider as Annan made it three goals in four minutes, Steven Sloan this time the beneficiary as he slammed home from close range.
East Stirling were understandably shell-shocked by the early onslaught but they were back in the contest when Annan goalkeeper Craig Summersgill deflected Kevin Cawley's cross into his own net after 38 minutes.
Annan's attacking threat faded as the game went on and Stephen Maguire rattled the post for the visitors with 20 minutes remaining.
