Bell missing for Albion Annan striker Graeme Bell returned to reserve-team football in midweek following a summer groin surgery, but will not feature in the clash with league leaders Albion Rovers. Work commitments continue to keep goalkeeper Greg Kelly away from the action, but recently signed Spanish striker Javier Amaya could feature. Annan boss Harry Cairney has urged his side to put a dent into Albion's progress, saying: "It will be a hard game but the league leaders at home is a game the players will be looking forward to and one they will want to do well in. "They have won five out of their last six games but it is a game we are looking for three points from." Albion Rovers will be missing midfielders Chris Boyle, Peter Hamilton and on-loan Motherwell man Peter Innes through injury for their clash. Long-term absentee Marc Pollock remains out and there are doubts over defenders Todd Lumsden and Alan Benton. Manager Paul Martin said: "Last season we did not build on going top of the table and I am looking for better this season. We have done well with a small group of players but I do not want us to fade away. "Everyone wants to beat you when you are top of the table and I am sure Harry Cairney will be telling his men exactly that."

Halsman at the double in convincing win Jordan Halsman bagged a brace as Annan hammered Albion 4-1 to move second in the table. After a quiet start to the game, the deadlock was broken by Halsman in the 42nd minute when his shot from 20 yards nestled into the top corner. He added his and Annan's second after 56 minutes, converting Jack Steele's pass to score from close range. Albion pulled a goal back through Steven Canning 13 minutes later after good work from John Gemmell, but Annan soon put the game out of reach when Bryan Gilfillan's right-foot shot beat the keeper in the 70th minute. Chris Jardine made it an emphatic win when he latched on to Halsman's pass to slot home 10 minutes from time.
