Match Preview

Maitland looks to strike the right blend in attack Alloa boss Allan Maitland has defender Mick Dunlop available after suspension for East Fife's visit. Maitland will be without goalkeeper Jamie Ewings who misses out with a face injury, resulting in the addition of Hibernian youngster Thomas Flynn as cover. The Recreation Park manager is spoilt for choice in the final third with Dougie Wilson and David Gormley both now fit and battling it out with Bryan Prunty, Andy Scott, Jim Lister and Stuart Noble for a starting slot. Maitland said: "I have some deep thinking to do about who starts up front. I will have to get the choice right as I watched East Fife during the week and they were excellent. "We will try and play good passing football and so will East Fife, so it should be a great game." East Fife boss Steve Crawford will be without the injured Stevie Campbell and banned Davie Muir for the encounter. Crawford wants to ensure striker Steve Hislop is 100% fit before naming his side to face the Wasps. Hislop pulled out of the Fifer's fine 3-1 win over Stirling Albion in midweek due to a niggling hamstring. Crawford said: "Steven is a really important player for us and I would rather have him miss this game and be available for the rest of the season than take a risk." The New Bayview boss added: "We are a good side going forward and they did lose three last week so we might just be able to nick something from this one."

Match Report

Lister hands Alloa win Alloa edged out East Fife in a thrilling 3-2 victory at Recreation Park. A dull affair - goalless at the break - came into life in the second half as Bryan Prunty put Alloa in front after 51 minutes. Fife responded almost immediately, though, and equalised through Craig Johnstone's close-range finish just three minutes later. And the away side found themselves 2-1 ahead when Johnstone turned provider for Jonathan Smart to head into the top corner. The visitors were in the lead for all of three minutes as Kevin McDonald converted a free-kick after he had been fouled by Robert Sloan. The Wasps completed the turnaround thanks to substitute James Lister, who was on hand to head in McDonald's cross spilt the Fife defence to earn three points.
