Straker absent again
Anthony Straker continues to miss out as Aldershot return to league matters against Crawley following their memorable Carling Cup achievement in midweek.
The left-back was ruled out of Tuesday`s 2-1 victory over Rochdale with a knee problem as Dean Holdsworth`s side booked their place in the fourth round of the League Cup for the first time in their history.
Straker will again have to watch from the stands as fifth-placed Crawley come to the Recreation Ground aiming to end the Shots` eight-match unbeaten charge.
Midfielder Anthony Pulis was also denied a place in Holdsworth`s matchday 18 against Dale due to a foot problem and he is rated as 50/50 to be fit for this weekend.
Otherwise, the Shots boss has a fully-fit squad to select from and must decide whether or not to rotate his ranks having kept faith with a pretty much unchanged XI of late.
Crawley's injury problems are clearing up ahead of the clash.
Boss Steve Evans was without five first-team players for last weekend's 3-1 win over Bradford but defenders Dean Howell and Kyle McFadzean should be available after thigh injuries.
Winger Sergio Torres is also close to returning from a groin strain, although he may not be risked at the weekend.
Defenders Jamie Day (back) and club captain Pablo Mills (ankle) are also on the mend but are yet to return to training.
Centre-half Claude Davis and on-loan Ipswich midfielder Andy Drury impressed on their debuts last weekend and should keep their places.
Defender John Dempster and midfielder Ben Smith have joined Kettering on a month's loan.
Shots end memorable week on a low
Crawley brought Aldershot back down to earth as loanee Michael Doughty scored the only goal of the game to inflict a 1-0 defeat.
On a day that had seen the Shots drawn against Manchester United in the fourth round of the Carling Cup - the first time the club has reached the last 16 of the competition - Dean Holdsworth's men were unable to continue the good form that had seen them go eight matches unbeaten.
Making his seventh appearance since signing temporarily from QPR, Doughty's moment of ingenuity proved the difference when his cross-shot just after the hour mark went in off the far post.
The Shots came within inches of breaking the deadlock on the half-hour. Ben Herd released Danny Hylton and, from the right corner of the area, he unleashed a drive just wide.
In a game lacking creative spark, Crawley's Doughty - an early substitute for the injured Andy Drury - was beginning to assert himself and went close after 55 minutes when he stung the palms of Ross Worner.
Doughty's tenacity on the right flank was rewarded just after the hour. After cutting in from the wing, his left-footed drive eluded all in the area before nestling in off the woodwork.
The Red Devils came close to doubling their advantage, with substitute John Akinde heading over from six yards and then fluffing wide from the same distance in injury time.
"Will David Moyes be able to turn it around at Ma..."
