Second-placed Albion Rovers will be without long-term absentee Marc Pollock, as well as a trio of other players, as they play their first home game since the end of October when Montrose visit Cliftonhill. Injury will keep defenders Todd Lumsden and Jamie Gilmartin on the sidelines, with Chris Boyle also absent because of university commitments. Manager Paul Martin is confident that on-loan Motherwell midfielder Steven Lawless will shake off a back strain to be included. Martin explained: "After having only one game in the past two months I am not quite sure what I will get from my players. "They have trained hard, however Montrose have a bit of an upper hand after as they have had a couple of games recently." Montrose will welcome back Chris Hegarty, who has been banned recently, for the trip. However, it will only be a quick return for the midfielder, who will serve another suspension after the clash. Gordon Pope will miss out against Albion, while defender Jonathan Crawford remains sidelined following a knee operation. Manager Steven Tweed also has concerns over a couple of unnamed players that missed training on Thursday because of flu. He said: "I do not want to let on who they are but one of them will definitely miss the game, however the other player may make it. "Albion Rovers are unbeaten at home all season, but it is a game we are looking forward to playing in after performing so well against Dunfermline in the Cup. "The players have been challenged to show that form again in the league."

Montrose surprise Albion Montrose sprung a surprise on high-flying Albion with an excellent 2-0 win at Cliftonhill. The hosts fell to their first home defeat of the season as goals from Nicky Smith and Dougie Cameron earned Montrose their first league win since October. Player-manager Steven Tweed's flighted free-kick provided the opener for Smith in the 34th minute. The lead was no more than the visitors deserved and an unusually below-par Albion scarcely troubled them in the first half. Cameron doubled the away side's advantage within 10 minutes of the restart when he squeezed an angled effort in at the near post. Albion pressed forward in search of a way back into the game but could not break down their resilient opponents as they spurned the chance to go second in the table.
