Albion depleted for Shire clash Albion have major concerns ahead of the visit of East Stirling. The Coatbridge side are at least six players down with a further three only involved as they have risen from their sick bed to play. Goalkeeper Derek Gaston looks set to miss out through illness with back-up Anton Nugent included after overcoming a bout of tonsillitis. Defenders Alan Reid and Todd Lumsden are out as are the creative Marc Pollock, Chris Boyle and Chris Hamilton. Tony Stevenson, Jamie Gilmartin and Paul McLeod are expected to recover from illness to play with manager Paul Martin saying: "We are not going to be negative about it, we are at home, have been playing well and looking for a win." East Stirling boss Jim McInally welcomes back midfielder Paul Weaver to his squad. But he has challenges in the centre of his defence as David Dunn starts a three-game ban and Alex Walker looks set to lose his race to be fit following a calf injury. Youngster Stuart Beveridge is in line to make his first senior start should Walker not make it. McInally is looking for his men to build on the fine form they showed against Berwick last weekend when they held the leaders to a draw. He said: "We are going to Coatbridge as underdogs but it was the same against Berwick and we acquitted ourselves really well."

Solitary goal wins in Michael McGowan's first-half strike was enough to send Albion top of the table after a 1-0 win over struggling East Stirling. McGowan opened the scoring for Albion on 28 minutes when he shot low past the keeper from six yards and Paul McLeod could have made it two but his 30-yard shot was tipped around the post by Michael Andrews. East Stirling were reduced to 10 men on 56 minutes when Craig Donaldson was sent off for violent conduct as Albion pushed for a second. Albion went on the attack in the second-half but could not find a second goal as Alan Benton headed wide from an Anthony Stevenson free-kick and Robert Love went close late on in the piece.
