Canning out for Rovers Promotion-seeking Albion Rovers will be without Steven Canning when they entertain bottom side Clyde. Rovers are on a high after defeating Berwick Rangers 6-1 in midweek but have lost midfielder Canning from their squad thanks to a suspension. On a more positive note for manager Paul Martin, midfielders Chris Boyle and Peter Innes are available after injury as is striker Iain Smith. The Coatbridge side get a break after this game following an 11 game spell in five weeks and Martin is looking for them to head into their rest positively. He said: "Despite our schedule we looked strong and sharp against Berwick in midweek and we need that to continue against an improving Clyde side. We have been better away from home than at home recently and it is time to change that." Clyde travel with defender Ian Gray back in their ranks after injury. John Stewart is available after suspension but Ally Park, Gavin Brown, Alan Lithgow and Paul McMullan remain out. Latvian signing Aleksandrs Gramovics and fit again striker Willie Sawyers are pushing for starting places with manager Jim Duffy happy to have a game after a frustrating week. Duffy said: "There are some players here that I have not seen in games yet and having had our last two games postponed that is still the case. "Albion Rovers will be a great test for us in terms of measuring progress as they beat Clyde 1-0 not long after I came in and were deserved winners that night. It is good to go against them again and test ourselves."

All square at Cliftonhill The points were shared at Cliftonhill as high-flying Albion were held to a 1-1 draw by bottom-club Clyde. Clyde opened the scoring against the run of play when Marc McCusker bundled in from close range after 14 minutes. But the home side battled back and were rewarded in the 22nd minute after Scott Chaplain pounced inside the six-yard box to poke home an equaliser. Albion poured forward looking for a winner after the break, with Chaplain and stiker John Gemmell going close on a number of occasions. But thanks to the linesman's flag and a stubborn rearguard action, the scores remained level.
