United waiting on Gemmill fitness Scott Gemmill is a doubt for Airdrie ahead of the visit of Peterhead. The striker has a knock and is only rated at 50/50 by boss Jimmy Boyle. Defender Euen Grant is a definite absentee as he is suspended. Boyle has been pleased with his players' reaction to losing their last two league games to Stenhousemuir and Dumbarton. He said: "We have put in disappointing displays in those games but the boys have came in and worked really hard in training. "They recognise that we have not been playing well enough recently but, if we play against Peterhead at the high tempo we`ve trained at, we will do okay. "We are still a young side but we need to start putting some more points on the board, particularly from home games." Bobby Mann is Peterhead`s only absentee. The veteran defender is still struggling with an ankle injury. The Blue Toon are enjoying their best run of form in the league this season, having won three of their last four games. Manager Neale Cooper is hoping to extend that run and move further away from the Diamonds in the table. "So far 2011 has been good to us in the league and long may that continue," said Cooper. "I want us to get a real momentum behind us and start to climb the table to make our bad start to the league a distant memory."

Craig strike enough for Airdrie Airdrie ended a winless run of seven games in all competitions after Christopher Craig's goal secured a 1-0 home victory over Peterhead. Craig netted his first of the season on the half-hour mark, latching onto a Paul Lovering header to score from 12 yards. He could have made it 2-0 just after the break but he volleyed wide. The Blue Toon pushed for an equaliser but Dennis Wyness and Scott Ross shot wide before Connor Gethans was denied twice by United goalkeeper Mark Ridgers. Gary Muir also went close to wrapping up the points before the home side were reduced to 10 men in injury time with Rhys Devlin being dismissed for a professional foul on Stuart Smith.
