Dons Jolley news
AFC Wimbledon could be boosted by the return of Christian Jolley for the visit of Southend.
Six-goal striker Jolley has played just once in the last month due to a hamstring injury but is back in training and pushing to be involved.
Winger Kieran Djalili continues to be sidelined with a hamstring injury and on-loan West Ham defender Callum McNaughton remains a doubt with a knee problem.
Therefore boss Terry Brown will have to stick with the bulk of the side which slipped to a fourth straight defeat when they were beaten 2-0 at home to Oxford on Boxing Day.
The Dons have not found the net in their last three games and have tumbled to 17th in the table.
Southend will be without suspended trio Liam Dickinson, Peter Gilbert and Bilel Mohsni.
Dickinson, having earlier fired the Shrimpers ahead from the penalty spot, received his fifth booking of the season in the Boxing Day clash with Aldershot, only to see the game abandoned at half-time following floodlight failure at the Recreation Ground.
Despite the scoreline being wiped out ahead of the rearranged fixture, all yellow and red cards still stand, which means Dickinson now serves an automatic one-match suspension at Kingsmeadow.
But Southend have been further punished by a ruling which sees the suspensions served by Gilbert and Mohsni at Aldershot now void due to the game not being completed.
That means the pair, who were due to complete their respective one-match and two-match bans on Boxing Day, will now do so against the Dons.
Skipper Chris Barker (calf) will again be assessed having been ruled out of the last two matches, with coach Graham Coughlan, 37, again on standby as he looks to make his 500th career appearance.
Shrimpers back on track
Promotion-chasing Southend ended their mid-season stutter in impressive fashion with a 4-1 victory at 10-man AFC Wimbledon.
Ryan Hall brought the visitors level before an own goal from Jamie Stuart, a Mark Phillips header and a lob from Neil Harris - who had seen his second-minute penalty saved - ended a four-match losing streak for the Shrimpers in all competitions and clinched their first win in seven attempts.
Jack Midson had initially opened the scoring for the Dons, who were ultimately overrun after the break following Christian Jolley's dismissal just before half-time and went on to taste a fifth successive defeat of their own.
Southend wasted a golden opportunity to take the lead when Harris' penalty was saved by Seb Brown and the home side took the lead five minutes later as Midson pounced on a Phillips clearance to slide home the opener.
The scores were level on the half hour when Brown tipped Shrimpers full-back Sean Clohessy's cross into the path of Hall and he notched home.
There was still time for Jolley to receive a straight red card for a two-footed lunge on Michael Timlin before the break.
The visitors got the killer second goal after 51 minutes when Stuart deflected a Timlin effort into his own net and the game was settled by further efforts from Phillips and Harris.
