Match Preview

Dons Jolley after Christian return AFC Wimbledon striker Christian Jolley is poised to return to the squad for the visit of Oxford. Jolley has played just once in the last month due to a hamstring injury but returned to training this week and is pushing to be involved at Kingsmeadow. Midfielder Sammy Moore is also set for a return to the side after missing the 1-0 defeat at Rotherham last weekend due to a one-match suspension for collecting five bookings. Former Crystal Palace winger Kieran Djalili continues to be sidelined after suffering a setback in his recovery from a hamstring injury. On-loan West Ham defender Callum McNaughton missed out against Rotherham after picking up a knee injury in training and is a doubt once again. Oxford will not be able to call on striker Rob Hall. The on-loan West Ham forward extended his temporary stay at the Kassam Stadium by a further month on Tuesday but was recalled by the Hammers 24 hours later and will not be available for manager Chris Wilder. Meanwhile, doubts remain over the fitness of veteran defender Michael Duberry, whose groin problem has kept him out of Oxford's last seven matches and he is unlikely to feature against the Dons. The Us will also be without midfielder Paul McLaren through injury as they look to build on their 2-0 victory over Northampton last weekend - their first win since October.

Match Report

Us heap further woe on Dons James Constable and Asa Hall fired Oxford into the play-off places with a 2-0 victory over beleaguered AFC Wimbledon, who have now lost five consecutive games. Constable's neat left-footed finish, his ninth goal of the season, and Hall's header put the Us two goals ahead at the break, leaving the Dons without a league win since October 8. The visitors started brightly and Tom Craddock blazed two good chances over, before Constable broke the deadlock on 17 minutes. AFC Wimbledon threatened a response but Sammy Moore's 20-yard effort was off target before Hall's simple header doubled Oxford's advantage and knocked the wind out of the hosts' sails. The Dons roared back in the second half and substitute Ricky Wellard played in Rashid Yussuff who smashed the ball against the underside of the bar. But the Us continued to threaten at the other end with Craddock forcing an excellent save from Seb Brown before firing wide of goal. Anthony Tonkin then arrived at the back post but his missed the target, mere moments before Alfie Potter unleashed a terrific strike that went just over the crossbar as Oxford ran out comfortable winners.
