Cherries waiting on duo Bournemouth are sweating over the fitness of Adam Barrett and Darryl Flahavan ahead of the clash with Wycombe. Both players were substituted during Saturday's 3-1 win over Yeovil and face a race against time to be passed fit. Defender Barrett is a doubt with a recurrence of a hamstring injury, while goalkeeper Flahavan will be assessed on Sunday following a blow to the head against the Glovers. Manager Lee Bradbury is without injured striker Charlie Sheringham due to a foot injury and Scott Malone, who has a grade one hamstring tear, while Bradbury confirmed Wes Thomas would be included in his squad after the striker completed his move from Crawley. Midfielder Joe Partington and Nathan Byrne continue to occupy the sidelines with long-term injuries. Wycombe will be without Dave Winfield when they make the trip. Winfield was forced out of the home defeat to Stevenage on New Year's Eve after injuring his knee in a second-half challenge with Boro forward Chris Beardsley. Manager Gary Waddock said it was too early to say how long the defender will be out for but he will play no part against the Cherries. "It did look like a nasty injury. It has settled down a little bit but we won't know until Sunday [how serious it is]," Waddock said. Stuart Lewis missed the Stevenage game through suspension after collecting his fifth yellow card of the campaign against Exeter on Boxing Day, but the midfielder is available again for the trip to the south coast.

Cherries in new year cruise Bournemouth continued their recent improvement with an emphatic 2-0 win over Wycombe with a goal in each half from Wes Thomas and Michael Symes. The result was never in doubt because Wycombe hardly mustered an opening in the entire match and only won their first corner in the 33rd minute. By then Bournemouth were ahead when Thomas capitalised on a defensive mistake to score his eighth of the season from 10 yards. Bournemouth had a host of chances in the second half and Wycombe goalkeeper Nikki Bull made important saves from Wes Fogden, Symes and Marc Pugh. But there was nothing he could do about Bournemouth's second goal in the 50th minute when Pugh's corner was not cleared properly and Symes headed home from 15 yards via a deflection. Pugh should have scored twice more when clean through after that, while Wycombe's only effort that caused any concern came just after half-time when Stuart Beavon headed over the crossbar.
