Match Preview

Symes doubtful for Cherries Bournemouth will monitor the fitness of striker Michael Symes ahead of their home clash with Dagenham & Redbridge. The former Accrington forward has missed the last two games due to a shoulder injury and his chances of facing the Daggers are rated as 50-50. Veteran striker Steve Fletcher could be back in the squad for the first time this season after spending eight weeks on the sidelines with a heel injury, but the best he can hope for is a place on the bench. Defender Stephen Purches could be back in contention after recovering from a rib injury, but the Cherries will be without a goalkeeper on the bench once again with Dan Thomas (knee) ruled out. Mark Molesley (foot) and Steve Lovell (ankle) are long-term absentees. Dagenham & Redbridge boss John Still is waiting on the fitness of defender Abu Ogogo ahead of the trip. The former Arsenal right-back is struggling with an ankle injury which forced him to come off at half-time against Leyton Orient last weekend. If he is ruled out, Will Antwi is likely to deputise, but Still will give his first-choice full-back as long as possible to prove his fitness. Otherwise, Still is expected to name the same side which picked up the Daggers' first win in League One last weekend. French midfielder Romain Vincelot scored both goals and will continue alongside Peter Green while striker Gavin Tomlin is still searching for his first goal for the club.

Match Report

Wiggins inspires Cherries Rhoys Wiggins was the inspirational figure as Bournemouth completed a 3-0 win over Dagenham at Dean Court. The Wales Under-21 international created both of Bournemouth's first-half strikes before capping a fine individual performance with his first league goal. Despite having scored 13 times in their previous four matches, Bournemouth lacked fluency for long periods of the first half, but once Jason Pearce fired them in front eight minutes before the break, there was little doubt about the eventual outcome. Pearce stabbed the Cherries in front after Dagenham had failed to clear Wiggins' corner. Five minutes later the Welshman switched wings, delivering a pinpoint cross for Josh McQuoid to notch his fifth goal in four games. Bournemouth, now one point off the top of League One, coasted home, with Wiggins getting his reward with Cherries' third goal 10 minutes after the break. Dagenham seldom looked likely to break their away-day goal drought and have still yet to score a league goal on their travels this season.
