Match Report

Accrington Stanley's home woes continued with a dramatic draw against League Two rivals Notts County.

Stanley boss John Coleman has demanded a marked improvement in his side's results at the Fraser Eagle Stadium after winning just seven games on their home turf last season.

The Reds, who came into this fixture on the back of three consecutive away defeats in all competitions, actually won their last home game against Macclesfield.

But they never really looked like winning this one, and County substitute Sean Canham nearly made them pay with a 90th-minute opener.

James Ryan, however, popped up two minutes into stoppage time with a stunning 25-yard volley to earn a share of the spoils.

The visitors twice hit the woodwork through a Michael Johnson header that crashed against the bar and a Myles Weston shot that thundered on to the post.

This was actually Stanley's first point against the Midlands outfit in five attempts.

On-loan Blackburn striker Jamie Clarke was Accrington's main threat. The 20-year-old former non-league striker has a 17th-minute effort saved by Russell Hoult, while he used his pace to good effect before being substituted in the 80th minute.

Had there been a winner, it should have just about been Notts County. It looked like that was going to be the case with just a minute left on the clock.

But Ryan saved the day for his troops with his quite stunning volley at the death.
