Lincoln grabbed a goal in each half to earn a comfortable three points against a poor Accrington at Sincil Bank.

City were pegged back in the first 15 minutes but then took control and there was only ever likely to be one winner.

Winger Dany N'Guessan almost caught out Stanley keeper Kenny Arthur with a speculative lob from 30 yards but Arthur managed to recover his footing and saved under the bar.

But N'Guessan was too good for the Lancashire team when he broke the deadlock in the 31st minute.Lee Frecklington set up the French winger who finished with a low left-foot drive which gave Arthur no chance.

N'Guessan ran at the Stanley defence a minute later and finished with a powerful shot but his shot was deflected inches wide by Phil Edwards.

An excellent interception from Mark Roberts prevented Stanley going two down just before the break when he cut out a pass from Jamie Forrester aimed at Frecklington.

Accrington had a good spell early in the second half but failed to take advantage.Paul Mullin was unable to reach an excellent cross from John Miles and Miles then fired a free kick over the bar from 20 yards before Edwards wasted Stanley's best chance of the game.

The defender broke into the box but his shot was straight at Lincoln keeper Alan Marriott.

Two minutes later Lincoln had the game up sewn up.

Veteran striker Mark Stallard beat two defenders inside the box but saw his shot blocked. The ball fell kindly for Louis Dodds and the youngster, on loan from Leicester City, fired in his second goal in two games.

N'Guessan continued to cause problems for the Stanley defence and Robert Williams was lucky to escape with a yellow card after tripping N'Guessan when he raced away 14 minutes from time.

The Frenchman then went close to scoring a third goal for Lincoln when he blasted in a shot from 35 yards only for Arthur to produce an excellent save.
