Match Preview

Jeffers eyes Stanley start Francis Jeffers could be in contention for a first Accrington start when Leam Richardson's relegation strugglers take on Fleetwood in npower League Two. The former Everton and Arsenal striker joined Stanley until the end of the season last week and appeared as a second-half substitute during Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Northampton. Jeffers replaced Craig Lindfield, who made a surprise return from an ankle injury and is set to be involved once more. Accrington's other ex-England international forward, James Beattie, was rested at the weekend and is expected to return against the Cod Army. Amine Linganzi was handed a maiden Reds start in midfield at Sixfields and will hope to win favour with Richardson once more, while defender Michael Liddle should be available once more following a bout of illness. Fleetwood have injury doubts over Steven Gillespie and Dean Howell. Former Colchester striker Gillespie suffered a recurrence of his hamstring problem and missed Saturday's goalless draw at home to Exeter - the fourth time in five outings that Graham Alexander's side have failed to find the net. Defender Howell limped off early in the second half against the Grecians, although the full extent of his leg injury is not yet clear. Alexander has a boost in midfield, where Jamie McGuire returns from a three-match suspension, although Jamie Allen (ankle) is working his way back to fitness alongside ex-Derby and Preston centre-back Youl Mawene. Mawene's fellow defender Nathan Pond returned from a seven-match absence at the weekend and said: "We've got three games coming up now against lower teams, but they will be just as hard because they will be fighting for their lives, so I am looking forward to Tuesday. The next few games are winnable on paper."
