Star striker Andy Bishop finished the season in style by bagging a superb first half double to give Bury victory at Accrington Stanley this afternoon.

The former non-league hitman bagged his 24th and 25th goals of the season to condemn the hosts to yet another home defeat, their 15th at the Fraser Eagle Stadium this term.

Local pride was the only real thing on offer in East Lancashire - and Bishop made sure it was the visitors who guaranteed the bragging rights with his virtuoso show.

Bury will struggle to hold onto the 26 year-old in the summer, with a number of Championship sides already circling around Gigg Lane.

Bishop's first was a clinical penalty, rammed into the bottom right corner on 21 minutes, after Nicky Adams was crudely brought down by Phil Edwards.

His second was a curling effort into the top right corner, bang on half-time, after he was sent clear by winger Adams.

Bishop, who was subbed midway through the second half to protect a long standing knee injury niggle, was simply brilliant.

And 21 year-old winger Adams was too. He caused Stanley problems all afternoon, particularly in the first half. He had a telling hand in both goals - and the home side were just not able to handle his pace.

The second half was more of a relaxed affair, despite the hosts pressing for a way back into the game.

Bury managed to hold onto their lead, keeping a clean sheet to end the season in style.
