Match Preview
Cook's problems reach boiling point Paul Cook's injury crisis shows little sign of abating as Accrington prepare to host AFC Wimbledon. Right-back Danny Coid and on-loan Wigan centre-back Rob Kiernan are expected to miss the rest of the season with respective knee and ankle problems, while skipper Dean Winnard is unlikely to feature again this term after undergoing ankle surgery on Wednesday. Aristote Nsiala (suspended) and Sean Hessey (hamstring) complete Cook's defensive woes and forward Craig Linfield is set to continue as an emergency right-back after filling the position during Tuesday's 2-0 loss to Oxford. Midfielder Bryan Hughes remains on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, while long-term absentee Alan Burton has resumed light training following his double hernia operation. Stanley head into the game on the back of consecutive defeats and they have won just one of 10 games since Cook succeeded John Coleman last month. On-loan midfielder Billy Knott misses out for AFC Wimbledon. The Sunderland youngster has suffered a knee injury that will force him to sit-out the trip and could be replaced by Ricky Wellard in the Dons' line-up. Fellow midfielder Sammy Moore is also absent, as he starts a two-match suspension due to picking up 10 yellow cards during the campaign. Winger Kieran Djilali is back in contention following a knee injury to boost the depleted midfield. Pim Balkestein has been declared fit, after the defender suffered a swollen toe in the club's 4-0 victory against Burton. Striker Jason Prior completed 30 minutes in a midweek reserve game but will not be considered for selection against Accrington.
