Selection worries for Athletic Annan are without suspended frontman David Cox and face a shortage of strikers as they look to get their season back on track against Montrose. Work commitments keep Graeme Bell out and Sean O'Connor is rated as a major doubt because of a knee problem, while makeshift forward Bryan Gilfillan is also struggling with a calf injury. Midfielder Jack Steele is another injury doubt but manager Harry Cairney remained upbeat, saying: "There are still 21 points available and if we can with the vast majority of them then we will make the play-offs. To start off the run we need we have to beat Montrose. "We have not won for a while at home and it would be good to put that right too." Montrose make the long trip south without suspended defender Jonathan Smart. Smart picked up his third red card of the season last week against Stranraer and now faces a lengthy ban. The Gable Endies will also be missing midfielder Terry Masson through family commitments, with winger David di Milta still out due to an ankle injury. Links Park boss Ray Farningham is hoping that his players show they have learned their lessons after going down 3-1 at Stair Park last week. "Bad decision making has been costing us goals all season and it cost us again last Saturday," he said. "We have spoken about it a lot and I want the players to show me between now and the end of the season that these mistakes can be cut out of our game."
