    Match Preview

Annan hope to have striker Annan hope to include striker David Winters for a third and final time as a trialist against East Stirling. Manager Harry Cairney, however, has concerns that attempts to sign the 28-year-old may be scuppered due to attention from elsewhere. John Macbeth and Graeme Bell have both been ruled out, with Aaron Muirhead and Sean O'Connor facing fitness checks. The Black and Gold's title dream has been faltering after a run of only three wins in 12 games and Cairney is determined to bring it alive against the league's bottom side, although he remains wary of the Shire. Cairney said: "They beat us in our last meeting and that is warning enough. We have slipped to fourth and it is time to bounce back." East Stirling will be without Stewart Beveridge and Craig Scott as they continue looking for their first away win of the season. Ryan Frances, who is now just two games away from completing his 14-match ban remains out, with striker Jordyn Sheerin only fit enough for a place on the bench following an ankle knock. Head coach John Coughlin said: "A repeat of the win we had over Annan at our place would be fantastic. It would also be good to get that first away win and win back-to-back for the first time this season after defeating Montrose last weekend. "We do know however that it will take a really good performance to get anything form this game."

    Match Report

Steele nets leveller Jack Steele struck a second-half equaliser for Annan who were forced to settle for a point in the 2-2 draw with bottom-of-the-table East Stirling at Galabank. David Winters rifled home Sean O'Connor's pass from 25 yards to give Athletic a fifth-minute lead but the visitors turned the game on its head inside 25 minutes. Scott Maxwell connected with Alexander Lurinsky's right-wing cross from close range to restore parity after 12 minutes before Lurinsky tapped home midway through the first half to put the Shire ahead. Midfielder Steele then finished neatly from another O'Connor pass 12 minutes after the restart but the home side were unable to find a winner as visiting keeper Calum Antell brilliantly turned away David Cox's right-wing corner.
