Newcastle United vs Burton Albion

Match Preview
Newcastle v Burton

Ciaran Clark again misses out for Newcastle when the Sky Bet Championship leaders host Burton at St James' Park.

Clark suffered medial ligament against Fulham last month and is not ready to return.

Fellow defender DeAndre Yedlin will also be absent with a thigh injury, although Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez expects to have him available.

Benitez has no other injury problems as Newcastle seek to take another step in making an instant return to the Premier League.

Burton boss Nigel Clough has to run the rule over several players before finalising his team selection.

Tom Flanagan, John Brayford and Kyle McFadzean all picked up injuries in the surprise 1-0 win at Huddersfield on Saturday.

Lucas Akins also suffered a knock in training on Monday and will be assessed.

Australia midfielder Jackson Irvine, who was away on international duty in Iran and Sydney last week, is likely to start after coming off the bench to score the stoppage-time winner at Huddersfield.
