Full Time: BURNLEY 0-1 BLACKBURN. Dunn's first-half penalty won the game for the visitors. Olsson had a couple of chances to increase the lead but, in truth, Burnley just never did enough to trouble the Blackburn goal and get back in the game.
Duff brings down Olsson in the left corner of the pitch. Free-kick to Blackburn in an area where they'll now look to keep the ball. Yellow card for Duff.
Ellioot shoots from just inside the area, but Samba and Jones are both quick to close it down and when the ball rebounds to McDonald he fires well off target from 25 yards.
Fox cynically pulls Chimbonda down after the Blackburn man nicked the ball past him and looked to break forward into the Burnley half. Yellow card for the Burnley man.
There will be five minutes of added time for Burnley to try to salvage something from the game.
Eagles gets obsructed by Pedersen on the half-way line and Burnley pile bodies forward for the kick. They force a corner, but Blackburn deal with it comfortably and bring the ball clear.
The pressure is starting to mount as Blackburn look to have settled for what they have and Burnley are still trying to press forward.
Blackburn substitution: Chimbonda replaces Salgado for the final five minutes.
The stretcher has come on for Salgado who is still down. It looks like Chimbonda will be on shortly in his place.
Salgado goes down under pressure from Nugent and the Blackburn full-back stays down. It's one of those painful ones where Salgado has kicked through the studs of Nugent as he raised his boot to block the clearance.
Great cross by Fox from the left and Samba slides in and so nearly puts it into his own net, but the ball goes inches wide of the far post.
Eagles crosses again from the right, but this time the cross is too high and it goes beyond everyone in the centre.
Burnley take the free-kick quickly and Eagles earns Burnley a corner with a deflected cross. The home side are just trying to up the pressure here.
Givet goes in late on Eagles and he receives the yellow card.
Brown comes sliding out on the left side of the area to claim the ball ahead of Nugent, but the keeper slides outside of his area and handles. Somehow between the referee and his assistant they fail to see it and Burnley don't get the free-kick.
Elliott fouls Olsson just inside the Blackburn half on the left. It's his third or fourth foul of the game and he'll surely not get too many more chances before he goes into the book.
Half chance for di Santo with almost his first touch. Salgado fires a cross in from the right and di Santo comes rushing onto it, but can only head wide.
Blackburn substitution: Franco di Santo replaces Jason Roberts, who has worked hard and held the ball up well but seen little in the way of quality service.
Olsson turns inside on the his left and shoots low from the edge of the area to Jensen's right, but the Burnley keeper gets down well to make the save.
Burnley have kept at their task here, but they just haven't really threatened Blackburn's goal and what they can do to turn this game around in the next 20 minutes could determine whether they survive come the end of the season.
Burnley substitution: Final change of the match for Laws. On comes Eagles in place of Alexander.
Fletcher tees up Alexander 30 yards out. The crowd urges him to shoot but his effort drifts safely over.
Great chance for Olsson again but Jensen keeps Burnley in it. The ball is looped forward and finds him onside on the edge of the area. he controls and fires it goalwards, but it's at a nice height for the keeper and Jensen palms away strongly.
So nearly 2-0 and it looks like the ball may have crossed the line. Olsson turns and fires at goal from 12 yards. It ricochets down off the bar and very close to being over the line. Emerton follows up and heads wide and Burnley survive.
Pedersen goes down in a challenge with Alexander. It looks like both of them raised their boots to win the ball but Blackburn are awarded the free-kick. It's 35 yards out on the left and Pedersen will take.
Blackburn substitution: Here comes that change, with Diouf the man to be replaced by Emerton.
It looks like Emerton is receiving his instructions on the sidelines in preparation for his introduction to the action.
Blake tries to break for Burnley on the counter, but his first touch is really heavy and it allows Salgado to come across and nick the ball away from him.
Alexander tries his luck on the volley from 35 yards. It was ambitious to say the least and the ball bobbles harmlessly wide.
Pedersen plays in a lovely looking ball from the left towards Olsson. He gets slightly in front of the ball and his header ends up going away from goal, but the flag goes up anyway and Burnley have a free-kick.
Burnley substitution: Second change of the afternoon for Brian Laws and he brings on Robbie Blake in place of Paterson.
Fletcher gets the ball in the left channel. He creates space for the cross and whips it in left-footed, but too long and out for a goal-kick.
Mears goes in on Roberts and commits a needless foul in the left corner of the pitch with Roberts going nowhere.
Pedersen plays a straight free-kick into the penalty area from just inside the Burnley half. It looks like it should be simple catch for Jensen until Cort heads away from his own keeper as the two collide.
Paterson turns and shoots from the right corner of the area, but it goes straight at Brown and it's a comfortable save for the Blackburn keeper.
It's been a much livelier start to this second half for the home side and they look the ones on the front foot thus far.
Fletcher crosses from the left and Jones is forced to head clear to deny Paterson.
Alexander takes a quick free-kick and finds Mears inside the area beyond the Blackburn defence on the right, but his first touch isn't great and it allows Olsson the chance to get back and poke it behind for a corner.
N'Zonzi plays a weak back-pass to Brown and the Blackburn keeper has to be alert to come out and clear under pressure from Fletcher.
Elliott does well to create space for a cross on the right, but he doesn't wrap his foot around it and it goes away behind the goal for a goal-kick to the visitors.
Blackburn get this second half underway.
Half Time: BURNLEY 0-1 BLACKBURN. Dunn's penalty separates the side at the interval. It's been a quiet half for the home side and they've not created enough to suggest they can get back to in this game.
Corner to Burnley and this could be the last action of the first half.
Nugent and Salgado come head-to-head in the left attacking corner and the referee wants a word with both players.
Diouf takes a corner in-swinging from the left. Roberts gets to it three yards out but can only loop his header over.
There will be a minimum of two added minutes at the end of the first half.
Burnley substitution: Fox comes on in place of Jordan.
Burnley create their first real chance of the half. Alexander's free-kick on the left finds Cort unmarked at the far post. He chests it before guiding it towards the far post on the volley and it goes agonisingly wide for the home side.
Another half chance for Blackburn. Burnley allow Pedersen to throw it into Diouf's feet inside the area. He lays it back for Pedersen to cross and as the ball gets headed down Salgado has a chance to shoot from 8 yards but he puts it wide.
Elliott gets caught by Samba on the edge of the Blackburn penalty area as the Burnley man cuts inside him towards goal. It's a yellow card for the Blackburn man. Another six inches closer and it would have been a penalty too.
Hlaf chance for Blackburn, but Olsson makes a mess of it. N'Zonzi lifts the ball over the Burnley defence. Olsson gets to it in space on the right corner of the six yard, but he opts to go for a first time shot on the volley and misses his kick.
Olsson plays a dangerous looping ball forward which Roberts gets on the end of and controls well. He twists and turns on the edge of the area trying to make space for the shot, but he's crowded out and Burnley clear.
Elliott crosses right-footed from the left, but it goes straight into the arms of Brown.
Paterson lays the ball forward for Mears on the overlap down the right, but Jones comes across well with a sliding challenge to concede a corner.
Paterson mis-controls as the ball is played square across the back line to him and it goes out for a throw-in to Blackburn on the left at half-way. It's not been a good opening 30 minutes of this game for the hosts.
Diouf pressures Duff in the left attacking corner and Pedersen has another long throw-in opportunity. He tosses it into the penalty area, but Jensen collects.
Elliott sends in a really dangerous looking cross to the far post from the right, but Samba does well under pressure to head behind for a corner to Burnley.
Blackburn are starting to push on since the goal and you feel that a second goal at this stage might put the game beyond Burnley's reach.
Diouf takes the corner to the far post. Jones heads back into the centre and in the end the ball finds Pedersen who fires well over from 12 yards out on the volley.
Pedersen crosses from the left and earns a corner after a deflection off of Alexander.
Just having looked at the penalty decision again it doesn't look like Jensen has touched him and Olsson went to ground of his own accord.
BURNLEY 0-1 BLACKBURN: After much debate over the penalty, DUNN steps up to side-foot to Jensen's right sending the Burnley keeper the wrong way.
Dunn heads forward to Olsson, who is through on goal. He goes by Jensen and goes to ground and the referee points to the spot.
Duff challenges for a header over the top of Roberts who didn't appear to jump for the ball but the referee awards Blackburn a free-kick 25 yards out on the left. It's a poor low delivery again from Pedersen and Jensen is able to collect.
Olsson has the ball in the back of the net but the flag was up before he struck the ball and it won't count.
Clever reverse pass from Roberts who is allowed to turn to easily on the edge of the Burnley area. The pass almost finds the diagonal run of Olsson, but Jensen is out quickly to smother the ball.
Burnley win a free-kick on the left, 35 yards out for a foul on Nugent. Alxendar takes, but it only goes as far as Diouf on the edge of the area and he's able to head well clear.
Pedersen receives the ball in space 40 yards from goal, but he takes the shot early and his left foot effort is closer to troubling the top corner of the stand than the goal.
Pedersen angles a long diagonal free-kick from the half-way line towards N'Zonzi in the penalty area, but the cross is too firm and flies out for a goal-kick.
Fletcher nips in front of Jones to win the ball on the right wing for Burnley. He tries to lay it back for Elliott to cross, but the pass is under-hit and Blackburn come away with possession.
Dunn plays a ball forward from midfield into the right channel for Roberts, but the Blackburn striker had checked his run and the pass is made to look a poor one.
N'Zonzi bundles Fletcher over from behind and Burnley have a free-kick on the right 25 yards out. The ball is fired in at the near post looking for Cort, but Blackburn just manage to turn it behind for a corner.
Pedersen plays the ball in towards Olsson and he's brough down by Cort 25 yards out and central. It's a dangerous position for Blackburn, but again they drive the free-kick straight into the wall.
Pedersen's cross from the free-kick is poor and goes straight in to the wall. He picks up on the rebound and crosses first time towards Diouf, who has strayed offside.
Dunn cuts inside from the right and bursts towards the penalty area, but Elliott brings him down and Blackburn have a free-kick 35 yards out on the right.
It's a positive start for the home side, forcing Blackburn on the back foot from the kick off.
Burnley get this derby match underway.
In Burnleys favour, Blackburn have failed to score in 12 games this season, with only Wolves failing to score on more occasions.
Burnley will be keen to keep a rare clean sheet today. Their last was in a 2-0 victory against Hull in October last year, a run of 22 games in all competitions. Theyve also not won a game when conceding first, losing 16 and drawing four.
Despite boasting a strong home record, however, Blackburns away record must be a real source of disappointment for Sam Allardyce. His side have won only once in 15 attempts on the road this season.
Blackburn will certainly come into the match as favourites. Its been 31 years since Burnley beat their local rivals and Brian Laws side have won only once in the last 20 Premier League games.
There are 12 Lancashire derbies in all, but its this clash between two founder members of the Football League that is most fierce. Since Blackburn won the first clash 7-1 back in November 1888, theyve won a further 36 in comparison to Burnleys 33.
Blackburn 's midweek match winner David Dunn was a doubt before kick-off after picking up a knock in that game but he makes the starting line-up.
Fox and Carlisle return after missing out on the game against Wigan, but both only make the bench for the hosts.
