Remy left out of Marseille's Nice trip

Marseille coach Didier Deschamps revealed on Friday that top scorer Loic Remy has been left out of Saturday's trip to Mediterranean rivals Nice due to a thigh problem.

Deschamps said that Remy "felt something in his thigh" during Marseille's 3-2 extra-time defeat against third-tier Quevilly in the quarter-finals of the French Cup in Caen on Tuesday.

Marseille are bidding to arrest a run of seven straight defeats -- the worst such sequence in their history -- but Remy is being spared the trip to Nice with a view to next Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg at home to Bayern Munich.

Deschamps said that the France international's injury was "nothing serious", which suggests he will be fit to start when the German champions visit Stade Velodrome next week.

Marseille will also be missing Cameroonian centre-back Nicolas N'Koulou against Nice, due to a suspension following his dismissal in the 2-1 loss at home to Dijon.
