Marseille's fans will once again be banned from travelling to Paris for their team's Ligue 1 match with arch rivals Paris Saint-Germain on April 8, the French government confirmed on Monday.

"On April 8, 2012, from 00:00 hours to midnight, the movement, either individual or collective, by any means, of any person claiming to support Olympique de Marseille or behaving as such, is forbidden between the municipalities of the Bouches-du-Rhone department and the city of Paris," read a statement from the Interior Ministry.

PSG's fans were banned from travelling to Marseille's Stade Velodrome for the reverse fixture in November, which saw the home side win 3-0.

A similar decision was taken in October 2010, following a string of violent clashes between supporters attending games between the sides.
