White targets number one spot

Mansfield Town goalkeeper Jason White is confident of seeing off Carl Muggleton's challenge for the number one jersey following his excellent display in the Carling Cup win at Huddersfield Town on Tuesday.
The two players are vying for regular football and, so far this season, veteran shot-stopper Muggleton has been the first-choice for the opening four League Two fixtures.
However, White did not disappoint at the Galpharm Stadium as the Stags ran out 2-0 winners against their League One opponents, leaving the keeper hopeful of more first-team chances.
He told the Stags' official website: "It is up to the gaffer now. Carl and I will keep pushing each other and we will just see how it goes.
"The lads played well and I was happy with my game to be fair. I didn't have a lot to do really but I felt I did the basic things well.
"It always helps if you can get an early touch and get involved. You don't want to go five or 10 minutes without touching the ball.
"I was a little surprised I didn't have more to do. Both our goals came at superb times which helped set us up for the second half."
