Stags snare Atkinson

Mansfield Town boss Billy Dearden has bolstered his squad with the loan signing of Hull City midfielder Will Atkinson.

The versatile 19-year-old initially joins the Stags for a month, to try and help them avoid relegation from the Football League.

Dearden told The Chad: "Will has been playing mostly on the left, but he has two very good feet and can play anywhere across the midfield.

"I have watched him a few times in the reserves and have always liked him.

"He was at Port Vale on loan, but it didn't work out for him there as they weren't playing him, so Hull dragged him back.

"I have been pestering them for over a month, but they wouldn't let him out until now and I am grateful they have."
