Stags fan arrested after attack

Controversial Mansfield Town owner Keith Haslam was attacked at the end of Saturday's home defeat to Rotherham United, a result that all but condemned the Stags to relegation to the Blue Square Premier.

A man was arrested and released on police bail after the incident which occurred in the wake of the 1-0 defeat at Field Mill.

Haslam received minor head injuries after two men were reported to have got into the boardroom before punching and kicking the Stags owner.

A police spokesman said: "Police received a call shortly before 5pm on Saturday that police were required in the boardroom at Field Mill, where the owner, Keith Haslam, had been the victim of an assault.

"He received minor head injuries and was treated at King's Mill Hospital."
