Stags clear up card confusion

Mansfield have moved swiftly to confirm midfielder Stephen Dawson did not receive two yellow cards against Milton Keynes Dons amid claims referee Kevin Wright failed to dismiss him.
The Football League have confirmed they are investigating suggestions that Wright failed to follow up a second yellow card with a subsequent red for Dawson at Field Mill in the Stags' 2-1 win last Tuesday evening.
However, Town officials have now revealed that winger Matthew Hamshaw was the recipient of the yellow card in the closing stages for dissent and not Dawson.
As a result the referee will not face any disciplinary action and Dawson is free to play in Friday's clash with Grimsby Town at Blundell Park.
A Stags spokesman confirmed: "Apparently, Stephen Dawson was only booked once - the second booking, which people thought was aimed at Stephen Dawson, was in fact aimed at Matt Hamshaw for dissent."
