Shirtliff patient over loans

Mansfield boss Peter Shirtliff says he is in no rush to bring new faces into Field Mill on loan as he claims the current crop of players deserve their chance.
Shirtliff allowed last Thursday's transfer window to slam shut without making any last-ditch acquisitions and he is not planning to swoop when the loan market opens later this week.
He told the club's official website: "There were a couple of possibilities but nothing permanent. In the end I decided just to wait a bit.
"If I want to bring someone in on loan then I can do that again after Thursday.
"But I don't think there is a lot wrong with the squad I have got and we are only five games into the season, so there is no panic.
"I don't see a reason to change things around too much at the moment.
"We do need to turn some of our draws into wins and we should have more points on the board than we have."
