Veteran goalkeeper Kevin Pressman has signed a one-year deal with Mansfield Town.
The 37-year-old will act as the Stags' goalkeeping coach, but boss Carlton Palmer also expects his former Sheffield Wednesday team-mate to be his first choice shot-stopper.
Palmer told the club's official website: "I know exactly what he is like as a player and as a lad. I am delighted that he has agreed to sign for us.
"I said to him we couldn't compete financially with other clubs that came in for him but it is local and it would be a good chance for him to move into his coaching career."
Pressman's arrival at Field Mill means youngster Jason White will be allowed to leave the club on loan.
