Mansfield Town caretaker manager Paul Holland is hoping Saturday's 2-1 victory at Bradford City will boost his chances of landing the job on a full-time basis.
The 23rd-placed Stags boosted their survival chances with a narrow victory at Valley Parade and afterwards Holland reiterated his desire to be made Billy Dearden's permanent successor.
"The players have responded to me superbly during the week and I couldn't have asked for more from them," he said.
"I was slightly nervous when the Bradford equaliser went in, but I told the lads not to let their heads drop. They showed a lot of character to pull off a vital win.
"I would love the job permanently."
