Bell fears surgery blow

Mansfield Town midfielder Lee Bell fears that his season is over due to a knee injury he sustained in the 2-1 weekend win at Darlington.

The 24-year-old former Crewe Alexandra schemer had to be replaced at half-time against the Quakers and is waiting to find out the full extent of his problem.

He told the club's official website: "I knew it was quite serious at the time. After talking to the medical people, it is not looking good.

"I think I will be out for the rest of the season. I can barely move my leg and I haven't slept because of the pain.

"I would say I will be out for a minimum of two months, which takes out most of the season.

"I am going to see a specialist at the weekend and there is a chance it could be operated on."
