Atkinson agrees Stags stay

Mansfield Town manager Billy Dearden is delighted to have persuaded Will Atkinson to extend his stay with the relegation-threatened Stags for a further month.

The midfielder has impressed Dearden during his initial four-week stay at Field Mill, with the 19-year-old featuring in seven matches.

"I've been very pleased with Will, he's done very well for us," Dearden told The Chad.

"He's come on stronger and stronger. He wants to stay and has enjoyed it.

"From coming on as a substitute to playing five games on the trot, Will is becoming a stronger character. He gives us that balance down the left."
