Stags have duo available
Defenders James Jennings and Martin Riley look set to come back into the reckoning for Mansfield when Newport visit the One Call Stadium.
Both players were injured in the defeat at Oxford on February 15 but made their return to action in a behind-closed-doors game at Alfreton on Tuesday, getting 90 minutes under their belts.
Jennings (quad muscle) and Riley (calf) are likely to have to settle for a place on the bench, with Stags boss Paul Cox expected to stick with the same defence that kept a clean sheet at Dagenham last weekend.
Elsewhere, however, the likes of Louis Briscoe, Ben Hutchinson, Chris Clements, Lindon Meikle, Michael Cain and Ollie Palmer will hope to come into Cox's starting plans.
Newport will wait on defender Ismail Yakubu.
The former Barnet defender was forced off against Fleetwood on Tuesday night with a thigh injury and is a doubt, with his possible absence maybe opening the door for Byron Anthony to return having been rested in midweek.
With Newport having suffered from a fixture backlog in recent weeks, midfielder Max Porter was also given a chance to recuperate on Tuesday and he looks likely to return to contention.
Goalkeepers Lenny Pidgeley and Jamie Stephens are edging closer to full fitness so this match could be the last Exiles appearance for Elliott Parish, whose loan deal expires after the Stags clash.
