Stags missing banned McGuire

Mansfield will be without Jamie McGuire when they resume Sky Bet League Two action against Bristol Rovers at the One Call Stadium.

McGuire received his fifth yellow card of the season during the home defeat to local rivals Chesterfield in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday night and the midfielder must serve a one-match suspension.

Ritchie Sutton could also miss out after suffering concussion against the Spireites in midweek.

The defender did not train on Thursday but he is scheduled to do a light session on Friday, after which he will be assessed by the medical staff to see if he is fit enough to feature.

Bristol Rovers striker Matt Harrold is doubtful due to a groin injury.

The striker, who has scored two goals in his last two starts, missed last weekend's defeat to Fleetwood and could be ruled out again.

Meanwhile, a scan this week has revealed defender Mark McChrystal has knee tendinitis, which requires a rest period of three to six weeks. But the centre-back could still feature against the Stags before taking a break.

Fellow defender Garry Kenneth remains an option for boss John Ward despite expressing a desire to leave the Memorial Ground last week.
