Who will Manchester United Axe this Transfer Window? Red Devils Prepare for January Clean-out

Defending champions Manchester United are reportedly planning to let go of some first-team players in the winter transfer window, reports the Guardian.

David Moyes, whose team is currently 13 points behind table leaders Arsenal, is looking to trim the team of any excess baggage in hopes of bringing in world-class talent to help revive United’s title run.

Reports suggest that first on the chopping block is flop duo Anderson and Ashley Young.

Young, who hasn’t started many games this season, will either be sold or sent out on loan. The Englishman’s diving has caused a lot of controversy in the past, with Sir Alex Ferguson having warned him that this is the type of matter that ends careers. He has failed to impress Moyes on several other occasions, including the Manchester City derby defeat.

Moyes will rebid for Everton’s Leighton Baines, whom he failed to sign this summer. However, Moyes is confident that this time around, the transfer will not fall through.

If Baines should arrive at Old Trafford, it would give room for the Red’s Boss to also offload Alex Buttner, who has failed to impress the club and the fans since his arrival in 2012.

Javier Hernandez’s future is also uncertain, as he isn’t gaining as much playing time as he would prefer ahead of the World Cup in Brazil. Arsenal have already stated their interest in the striker but Moyes doesn’t wish to send the striker packing for Emirates just yet.

Manchester United have been dropping down the table week after week, currently trailing in 9th place. They are in desperate need of several big signings in order to restore a possible title run.
