Wesley Sneijder gives Manchester United boost in 25m pursuit
Published : 26 Apr 2011 09:04:54

Wesley Sneijder has given Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson encouragement to go ahead with their proposed ?25million summer swoop. As revealed by Sportsmail last week, the Old Trafford chief has made the Holland World Cup star his top summer transfer. And the 26-year-old Inter Milan midfielder dropped a heavy hint after being asked about our exclusive story in an interview on a Dutch radio station Studio Ajax. On the move: Wesley Sneijder has offered Manchester United encouragement in their pursuit to sign him from Inter Milan this summer He said: 'Do I want to go to United? It's a beautiful club.' Sneijder qualified the statement by saying: 'I'm fine in Milan and not at the point to think about it.' But his response will be welcomed by Ferguson, who plans a bumper bid to sign Sneijder to replace veteran midfielder Paul Scholes. London calling: Tottenham's Rafael van der Vaart (not pictured) has told Sneijder to snub a move to Manchester and join a club in the capital Scholes has yet to decide whether to extend his career beyond the end of the season, with fears mounting thathe may decide to call it a day. Sneijder was joined on the radio show by his fellow Dutchman and Tottenham star Rafael van der Vaart, who joked that the Inter man should move to London rather than Manchester. He said: 'All the players from Man United and [Manchester] City are coming to the city of London in their own time. I think that says enough about that city.'
