Violence mars party in Barcelona

Spanish police say 80 officers were hurt in clashes with fans celebrating Barcelona's defeat of Manchester United in the Champions League final in Rome. Some 100,000 people packed the streets of Barcelona, singing and setting off fireworks on Wednesday night. Some also threw bottles and damaged property. More than 100 people were arrested and two dozen taken to hospital. The players are expected to parade the trophy through the streets of Barcelona in an open-top bus later on Thursday.... read more
