Vidic ready for Gunners

Published: 25 Apr 2009 - 13:54:13

Nemanja Vidic feels Manchester United are fully prepared for their UEFA Champions League tie with Arsenal. The all-English tie will be a first for United, as they have never played English opposition over two legs before. But Vidic feels the Red Devils have done their homework on the Londoners, who are looking to go one step further then their final defeat to Barcelona in 2006. "We know everything about Arsenal," said the Serbian defender. "I don't suppose there are going to be many surprises on either side. It should be a good game and we want to win." Crucial RioVidic feels that the return to fitness of Rio Ferdinand will be crucial as United look to avenge their 2-1 Premier League defeat last time out against the Gunners. "We need Rio at this time of the year. "We have reached a point in the season when one game can decide everything. Now is the semi-final of the Champions League and we must be at our very best." United are looking to become the first team to successfully defend the Champions League, but will have to overcome an Arsenal team who have found a rich vein of form at present. "Arsenal have some top-quality players and they have started to score plenty of goals," Vidic added. "We respect them in that way but we will play our game and we are confident we will get a good result."
