Valencia: Best is yet to come
17 Dec 2009 - 10:31:22
Summer signing Luis Antonio Valencia has told Manchester United fans that they have not yet seen the best of him.
The Red Devils splashed out £15million to sign the Ecuador winger from Wigan Athletic during the close season and Valencia has responded with five goals in 23 appearances in all competitions.
The 24-year-old scored the final goal in Tuesday's 3-0 victory over Wolves but insists there is plenty more to come from him - particularly in the goalscoring stakes.
Valencia was signed as a replacement for the prolific Cristiano Ronaldo following the Portugal international's £80million move to Real Madrid.
"I only scored seven times in my three years at Wigan - and that probably included all the training sessions," he said.
"I'm happy with my form but I'm definitely not settling for what I've done so far. I want to improve, keep learning and achieve a lot more.
"I think fans will see a lot more from me as we progress through the season."
