United Take One For The Future From City

Manchester United picked out one for the future in the transfer window when they signed youngster Frederic Veseli from bitter rivals Manchester City.

The 19-year-old Swiss center back will initially have to serve his time in the reserves before he can get a place in the first team.

Veseli said: “Manchester United has a long history of younger players coming through and hopefully I can follow and do the same.”

Veseli captained Switzerland to victory in the under-17 World Cup in 2009 and was part of the City senior squad which toured the United States last summer.
