    United stay appeals to Vidic

    14 Nov 2009 - 10:36:36

Serbia defender Nemanja Vidic has again insisted that he is happy at Manchester United and has no plans to leave Old Trafford in the near future.

The 28-year-old centre-back continues to be linked with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, but Vidic says that he is more than content with the Red Devils.

He told Sky Sports: "I am happy at Manchester United and I am looking forward to winning more trophies and I don't think about leaving."

Vidic joined United in January 2006 from Spartak Moscow in a £7million deal and has gone on to score 12 goals in 163 appearances for the Premier League powerhouses.

Meanwhile, Vidic is confident that his side can recover a five-point deficit to leaders Chelsea, as Sir Alex Ferguson's side go in search of a fourth straight title.

He added: "Our mentality does not change after a few games, we know what we need to do this year.

"Definitely it will be hard, but I think we have a good squad, a big squad to do well this season."
