United reveal Park blow

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed injured midfielder Ji-Sung Park is unlikely to play again until January following knee surgery.

The South Korea international has been out of action since damaging knee ligaments back in March.

Speaking ahead of the opening leg of his side's four-match Far East tour, the United boss revealed the extent of the problem.

"He will not be available until December or January," he said.

"It is very disappointing news but hopefully we have the squad to cover injuries this year."

Park joined United in July 2005 in a £4million move from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.

The 26-year-old made 19 appearances last season before being forced on to the sidelines through injury.
