United prepare massive bid to win Juan Cuadrado race

The 26-year-old Colombian winger who plays his club football at Fiorentina seems much in demand with interest from Spanish and English giants Barcelona and Manchester United for his services.

Reports in the Daily Star suggest that United are ahead with negotiations having negotiated away from the £40m asking price to a fee based around a smaller initial fee of £29m with appearance and performance add-ons. Should Cuadrado snub an Old Trafford move and choose Spain as his destination of choice then Barca will need to improve on the Manchester bid.

A further Daily Star report suggests that Cuadrado is set to reject a new Fiorentina effort to keep the player in Italy with an improved deal worth an extra £30k-a-week, preferring Spain or England. The report also quotes Marca who suggest the player has agreed to join Barca with fresh reports suggesting the Barca deal is already in turmoil with United offering the player better personal terms than the Catalan side.

The player who lives in Florence has become famous for his dance moves when celebrating goals from the World Cup and with his exceptional dribbling ability and pace he is a very dangerous winger and goal threat. He has been in Serie A since the 2009-10 season with Udinese and later joined Fiorentina in 2012. In the league, Coppa Italia and Europe the player made 43 appearances and scored 15 goals in the 2013-14 season.

Cuadrado is expected to meet the club accompanied by his agent Alessandro Lucci in the next 48hrs and is understood to want to reject the new Fiorentina deal.
