UEFA has fined both Manchester United and AS Roma for the trouble that marred the Champions League quarter-final first leg encounter between the two clubs at the Stadio Olimpico earlier this month.
The Serie A side won the game 2-1 before slumping to a 7-1 defeat at Old Trafford in the second leg, but it was the off-field problems that attracted all the headlines.
UEFA's Control & Disciplinary Body said they had taken action "after fans of both clubs lit fireworks and threw missiles, as well as being involved in general crowd disturbances."
Roma have been fined £31,000 while United will have to pay £14,500 and both sides have three days in which to appeal.
United's 4,000-strong travelling fans were charged by baton-wielding riot police in the stadium after the hosts had taken the lead.
The incident was sparked when hoards of home fans surged towards a barrier separating the two sets of supporters and missiles were thrown into the United contingent.
